"Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse" TV Anime to Air in Summer, Key Visual Revealed (Updated)

First staff and cast also revealed. Possible simultaneous US broadcast?

A flood of new information has been revealed with a full overhaul to the official website for the TV anime adaptation of Koki Yoshimune's Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse novels. The TV series will be airing this summer and will be animated by ixtl and Satelight. The series will be directed by Takayuki Inagaki (Desert Punk, Rosario and Vampire) with Yumiko Hara doing character designs, Jin Aketagawa as sound director, and Kenji Shinohara and Rondo Mizukami as animation directors.

The cast has so far been announced to be:

Daisuke Oono voices Yuuya Bridges
Mai Nakahara voices Yui Takamura
Hitomi Nabatame voices Cryska Barchenowa
Mamiko Noto voices Inia Sestina
Sakura Nogawa voices Tarisa Manandal
Tomokazu Sugita voices Vincent Lowell

The series key visual can be seen in the official site's background:

Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse is a series of novels by Koki Yoshimune, serialized in the adult game magazine Tech Gian, spun off from the adult game Muv-Luv Alternative by âge. It tells the story of the continuing fight against the BETA, aliens that invaded earth in 1973 driving humans to the brink of extinction. In 2001, as they are working on building the latest Tactical Surface Fighter, a humanoid robot used to fight the BETA, the UN Forces propose a joint US/Japan forces plan to improve the robots. Yui Takamura heads to Africa to lead the plan for Japan's forces. At the same time, Yuuya Bridges, of the US forces, also heads to Africa. Unknown to them, their meeting will change fate.

Update: The official site also says "Japan and America simultaneously" down the right side. It is unclear what the context of this is, but some blogs seem to suspect this might mean the show will be aired simultaneously in both countries, while other blogs first suspect that and then wrote it off as story related.

Wow, this is well-loved in the VN community. Wonder what they think about this. (Probably complete apprehension, but ah well.)
God. Animation keeps getting better and better, I feel very sorry for the people who have to keep up with the drawing curve >.> Although, higher demand for better animators = more money for them I suppose.

It's very interesting to go back and look at anime from just a few years ago, fate/stay night, and look at fate/stay zero and the huge difference in quality is astounding. Think of where it will be in 1, 3, 5 more years. Makes me giddy like a girl @_@
you can say animation keeps getting better and better, but when i look back at certain styles like Cowboy Bebop or Metropolis, some new anime just looks gaudy. not that i dont enjoy the look of Fate or Gundam 00
Haven't heard or seen this before. I'm assuming this is a mecha series with romance?
I knew this was going to be animated at some point. There has been visual games, novel (adult and non-adult), manga, and figures. Anime is the next step.

its probably already got a simulcast deal and if it does then i'll defenitly see it since it looks good :).
Looking forward to see this one ^.^
The premise sounds weird and a bit boring, but I'll give it a show when it premieres
I'll give it a chance, before I make my decision on to watch it or not.
