"Medaka Box" Anime OP/ED Artists Announced, Along with More Cast News!

A suggestive series about a suggestions box--who would have guessed?

As you may already know, fanservicey Weekly Jump action-comedy Medaka Box is getting the anime treatment from Gainax with the very popular Aki Toyosaki (K-ON!'s Yui) voicing the titular Medaka, and directed by Shouji Saeki, no stranger to titillating comedies as he's previously helmed He is My Master and the more low-key and dramatic This Ugly Yet Beautiful World.

 

The opening and ending theme artists have been announced for the series, featuring Minami Kuribayashi (Chrono Crusade and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien/Rumbling Hearts) handling the opening, with series lead character Medaka Kurokami herself being credited for the ending--meaning that Aki Toyosaki will be singing the ending theme as her (kinda scary) character.

 

So far the cast list includes:

 

Aki Toyosaki as Medaka Kurokami

Yuuki Ono as Zenkichi Hitoyoshi

Emiri Kato as Hansode Shiranui

Daisuke Namikawa as Kouki Akune

Ai Kayano as Mogana Kikajima

 

Not bad at all! Who else is looking forward to this goofy, action-filled romp that occasionally gets kinda dark? Anyone hoping it makes its way here to CR?

CR normally gets all the great titles in the season so if this pops up on it great, I'll be watching it :)

True although I have hope CR may get this as Gainax is the studio and The Mystic Archives of Dantalian was streamed here.

Would like to see a nice surprise thou as CR did pull it off with Nisemonogatari and Familiar of Zero F*

AI wasnt who i was expecting as mogana but now that i think about it..it DOES fit quite nicely. namikawa as akune will be awesomness in every possible way. as for the op and ending artists cant remember the opening artist will check out some of his/hers past work and as for the ending it might be good...probably going to be fan service filled though,

oh and the plot is a complete troll it turns into the most insane parody of fighting shonen in history and has the most awesome character in history kumagawa.

I wonder if the series will go on long enough for the villain who wants to get the manga cancelled before the anime airs shows up. That would be a hilarious bit of anime.

Heard good things about this series. I hope the comedy will not be exaggerated thou. Cause that usually turns into shit, which eventually leads to a drop.

i wouldnt quite put it as deconstruction but its defenitly a parody and a awesome one at that also anyone who liked bakemonotogari might like this since its by the same creator.
