"Etrian Odyssey IV" RPG is Nintendo 3DS-Bound

Famitsu reveals next in dungeon-crawling series

This week Japanese gaming mag Famitsu is revealing the next in the Etrian Odyssey series of dungeon-crawling RPGs. Sekaiju no Meikyuu IV: Densetsu no Kyojin (Etrian Odyssey IV: Legend of the Giant God), is set for a July 5 release on Nintendo 3DS in Japan.

According to a report from the early copy of Famitsu, Daisuke Kaneda is directing Etrian Odyssey IV, with Nizou Yamamoto on background art, Shin Nagasawa on monster design, and Yuji Himukai on character design. Sound is being provided once again by the legendary Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage, Actraiser).

Those new to the series might find the added Casual Mode more appealing than the standard challenge, but players can also change the difficulty at any point. Some of the available jobs listed in the magazine include sword man, medic, dancer, and sniper.

Any Etrian Odyssey fans here?
