In development since 2010, the CG animated Pac-Man TV series will finally be coming to US televisions in 2013. Namco Bandai Games announced today that Disney XD has picked up the series and plans to premiere it in the Fall of 2013 under the tentative title Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins.
The executive producers on the show are Avi Arad and Rick Ungar, who both produced the X-Men: Evolution animated TV series. The scripts are written by Scooby Doo's Tom Ruegger and Paul Rugg. AnimeAnime is reporting that the show is produced in Full HD stereoscopic 3D and production costs are approximately $600,000 an episode. For comparision, an episode of anime costs less than $150,000, so they are really throwing money at this.
For those outside the US, Namco Bandai plans to get the TV show on the air in other countries as well in the future.
