Nathan Drake Almost Guest-Starred in "Street Fighter X Tekken"

Joins the ranks of could-have-beens like Master Chief, Marcus Fenix

I'll admit, I was more than a little confused when Infamous' Cole McGrath was chosen as a special guest character for Street Fighter X Tekken. It turns out that SFxT's developers had their pick of the litter for special guests, among them incredibly unlucky treasure hunter Nathan Drake, from the Uncharted series.

Capcom Community Manager and Street Fighter IV final boss Seth Killian commented:

"We were committed to try and provide some extra content to Sony and we were excited about looking at the different roster and seeing who was out there, and you know you’ve got all sort of cool characters like Nathan Drake, but you know Nathan Drake has kind of a nice Han Solo kind of everyman and he’s a comical guy but the Japanese team got really excited about Cole and the flexibility of his powers, projectiles, grabs, and all sorts of cool stuff."

Much like Halo's Master Chief and Gears of War's Marcus Fenix were considered for the 360 version of Street Fighter X Tekken, Nathan Drake is another interesting might-have-been. Honestly, I think he's kind of outmatched--Nathan fights about as well as Happy Gilmore--but it would have been a lot of fun, and Drake's arsenal of firearms would probably make for some interesting moves, like Chris Redfield in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

What do you think? While the chances of him being in the game are next-to-none now, would you have tried out Nathan Drake in Street Fighter X Tekken? What other guest characters do you think would work in the crossover fighter?
