Title Stripped from Poopin' Pokémon Champs
Spanish team's Pokédreams flushed down the toilet
Remember the story about the poo-crazy Spanish Pokémon Championship team? How could anyone forget it? Apparently they took the lyrics from the original US Pokémon theme to heart in a different way, striving to "be the very best" at pooping in hotel hallways.
Now the team is paying the price, as two-time Pokémon champ Ruben Puig Lecegui was stripped of his title at the United Kingdom Video Game Championship. Cops were called after the incident, and the team was kicked out of the hotel and forced to pay fines. But surely losing the title to the event's runner-up, now champion as a result, is the ultimate price the team had to pay.
"The Pokémon Company International expects its players to maintain high standards of behaviour conducive to the family-friendly environment that we foster," the manager of Play! Pokémon told Pokébeach in regards to the poo party.
It's good to see that action was taken on this, as ridiculous as the whole thing is. How does one live down such a dirty dookie deed?
