Unlike most games, I'm usually too caught up in the world of whatever Warriors game I'm playing to fuss with extra costumes--I'm basically playing out Red Cliff for the next twenty minutes while I chase down generals of a Chinese army, so I don't go out of my way to make my character look like anything other than, well... the general of a Chinese army. There are exceptions, of course, but the upcoming 3DS actioner Dynasty Warriors VS. has caught my attention with its interesting and unexpected extra costumes.
Gamers will get the chance to face Lu Bu at Hu Lao Gate with costumes based on Nintendo mainstays Link (specifically, his Skyward Sword getup) and Samus Aran's Zero Suit. This isn't the first time Nintendo references and cameos (specifically, Metroid) have shown up in Tecmo Koei games, either--Fatal Frame IV had a Zero Suit costume, and Dead or Alive: Dimensions has a trippy Ridley stage.
There's no word on whether or not these costumes are DLC, or will be made available with the game at launch. Honestly, that's kind of awesome, but my real question is whether or not I can dress up Zhang Fei as Bowser and tear through enemy ranks on horseback. What kind of costumes, Nintendo-themed or otherwise, would you want to see in a Dynasty Warriors game?
