Rapper T.I. to Co-Star in "All You Need is Kill" Adaptation

Project will headline Tom Cruise, with Bourne Identity's Doug Liman directing

Rap news site This Beat Goes reports that T.I. is gearing up for a foray into the film industry, starting with the adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's Japanese science fiction novel All You Need is Kill.

“We also have a new Tom Cruise film with Doug Liman who made the Bourne Identity, Swingers. I have that as well on the horizon… aside from that, I have some other film things that I’m looking into, something with Kevin Hart that I’m looking into, something with Omar Epps that I’m looking into,” T.I. explained.

The original novel was published in North America by Viz Media under its Haikasoru label, and the rights to Kill were picked up for a large sum back in April 2010.

Viz's synopsis:

When the alien Mimics invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor called a Jacket and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to be reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On his 158th iteration, he gets a message from a mysterious ally--the female soldier known as the Full Metal Bitch. Is she the key to Keiji's escape or his final death?
