Arc System Works Producer Talks About "BlazBlue" RPG Possibilities

After "The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena," Mori talks about switching gears

BlazBlue producer Toshimichi Mori is pretty open when it comes to the future of his series. He's talked about the possibility of an anime for the fighting game series, and now he's talking about taking the crazy-complex world of BlazBlue into the realm of role-playing games.

With Arc System Works wowing RPG fans with their fast-paced fighter Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, 4Gamer got to ask Mori about what would happen if ASW switched gears, making an RPG (like Atlus' Persona series) instead of the fighters they're usually known for.

"I'd like to do it, but if we did make an RPG, I'd want to make it myself. I'm the kind of person who likes do do things himself wherever possible."

BlazBlue's Story Mode is a visual-novel style adventure game, something that Mori was expressing interest in (before he realized he'd already made it), and even joked about making a Trauma Center-type game where Ragna performs surgery.

Personally, if it's gonna turn out anything like the Samurai Shodown RPG, I'm sold. What do you think? Would a straight-up RPG work for the BlazBlue universe?
