I've already talked about how strategy RPGs kind of suck away my life, especially if they're portable. Nintendo's latest effort to glue a DS to my hands comes in the form of Fire Emblem: Awakening--we got a nice gameplay preview last time that showed off battles, levelling up, changing your classes, and more.
This time around, Nintendo's new trailer gives us some information about the upcoming Dual and Double systems. Double lets two units pair together to attack as one with various effects depending on who's working together, while Dual has one unit supporting another and giving them a temporary stat boost, guarding them, or even attacking after their partner. This paired stat-boosting fits into the game's Marriage system--any two allies can marry, including your personal unit, and married units will be much more powerful than a regular pairing. Married allies can even have kids, who can become new allies for your army.
The more I see of this game, the more I'm debating heading out to pick it up at a midnight launch--something I almost never do. Will you grab Fire Emblem: Awakening, assuming it ever gets a North American release?
