Breaking news: your tongue would make a great video game controller. Here’s the proof: a team of researchers at Japan’s University of Electro Communications has just whipped up a wacky computer-tongue interface using the Xbox 360’s Kinect. Check out the video below for a full demonstration.
While this tech is intended as a training device for people with “oral-motor function disorders affecting their ability to speak”, aiming bullets at targets via the tongue is already part of the experience, meaning that game applications are GO.
Personally, I’d like to see a virtual demonstration of *exactly* how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, but maybe you guys have other ideas for an game-tongue interface?
