NIS America Announces "Bunny Drop" Home Video Release for August

2011 adaptation animated by Production IG to get Premium Edition Blu-Ray/DVD release

One of the most talked about and critically-acclaimed series of 2011 is about to be graced with a US home video release as the Usagi Drop anime adaptation will be released in the US by NIS America this August 7th in its now customary Premium Edition with a BD/DVD combo release to add to the good news which was announced during its panel held this morning at the Anime Central convention.

The series ended up being one of the most popular shows last year and this news is especially exciting for me as it was one of my favorite shows of last year. If you've been living under a rock and haven't seen the show yet, it's available for streaming here on Crunchyroll. Go watch it and then read the manga. You can thank me later.

Synopsis:
By force of circumstances, a 30-year-old single man with a full-time job suddenly starts raising a 6-year-old girl. While running each other ragged, the two of them gradually grow into a “family”. This is the long-awaited anime version of “Bunny Drop”, the extremely popular and finely crafted comic by Yumi Unita. It’s a heartwarming and entertaining work that naturally depicts child-raising experiences, but also the instantly relatable warmth and noise of being in a family.
