I didn't think gaming-related announcements could get any more obvious than Activision's "there will be a new Call of Duty" announcement last year. Leave it to God of War and Twisted Metal lead David Jaffe to surprise even me as he talks about possibilities for his next big project:
"There is a gun in [one of the possible games]. And you hold it. And all the things that I can sit here and passionately discuss and preach to you are absolutely things that I'm thinking about doing if it turns out the game we're thinking about doing gets made next involves a gun and a person holding a gun."
Right. Y'know what? Here is a game that involves a gun, as well as a person holding a gun.
"Person" and "gun" defined very loosely in this example
Jaffe did go on to explain his feelings on shooters as a genre: they've gone "stale," and wanted to try something out in "the casual space." With Battlefield Heroes proving to be a simple, yet fun shooter experience, could a browser-based shooter be the direction that David Jaffe is going in? What do you think?
