VIDEO: "Sword Art Online" Anime Cuts into TV with Quick Commercial

Light novel adaptation heads to Japanese television in July

This may be another case of super-brief television advertising, but the latest commercial for Sword Art Online is worth a look nonetheless. The ad is streaming on the anime's official website, and you can check out the 15-second burst of animation below.

Sword Art Online adapts the light novel series by Reki Kawahara, with illustrations by Abec. It tells the story of Kazuto "Kirito" Kirigaya, a boy who enters the titular MMO and can't escape until he clears it. "Game Over" really means Game Over. The series is set to premiere on Japanese TV in July.

If you missed it, a more substantial trailer was released last month.
