Even though Guild 01 isn't out yet, Level-5 (White Knight Chronicles, the Professor Layton series) has announced its follow-up, the aptly-titled Guild 02. Just as Suda51, Yasumi Matsuno and Yoot Saito were the big names associated with Guild 01, Guild 02 gets its own heavy hitter with former Capcom creator Keiji Inafune.
Keiji Inafune (Mega Man, Dead Rising) is working on Mushikera Sensha (Bug Tank), a WWII game unlike any other where you're in a tank that's been shrunk to miniature size. Now you have to fight against legions of now-enormous bugs.
Takemaru Abiko and Kazuya Asano (Otogiriso, Kamaitachi no Yoru) are Chunsoft visual novel developers, and are teaming up for the horror game ALONE. Dealing with the suspense of isolation, you wake up alone in a dark room and have to find out where you are, why you are there, and most importantly, who you are.
Kazu Ayabe (My Summer Vacation) is taking the reins for Kaijuu ga Deru Kinyoubi (The Friday When Monsters Appear). While there's no word on what type of game it is, the game takes place in the Showa era (1960s Japan) in a town where children are huge fans of giant monsters and the colossal heroes who battle them--the monsters appear every Friday, hence the title.
Guild 01 has four games, but so far only these three have been announced for Guild 02. What do you think, so far? I'm hoping both of these come out to the States eventually, but would you be willing to try out smaller titles in a compilation from famous developers? Which developers would you like to see appear in this style of compilation?
