Another year, another Call of Duty--Activision's gajillion-selling shooter franchise blasts into the future with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, featuring a war-torn near-future Los Angeles. Fierce fighting on the streets escalates to a tense sniper-cover segment, followed by our hero getting a building dropped on him and hopping in a fighter plane to dogfight with unmanned drones. All in a day's work!
Maybe Call of Duty is losing its touch with me, but I wasn't too captivated by this. I liked the original Black Ops' Cold War setting and atmosphere, but this near-future setting just isn't holding me. Maybe I need to see more to be convinced, but what about you? Are you looking forward to taking on whatever nameless villain is wreaking havoc on Black Ops 2?
