Gainax has gone someplace very unconventional for this week's site welcome image. Yuki Onuma, an assistant to the transgressive modern artist/photographer Makoto Aida, has done a religiously inspired "Evangelist" painting for the site.
See if you can spot the faces of Shinji, Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu.
Makoto Aida has done some pretty amazing stuff, most of which is not safe for work and young audiences.
