Kotobukiya Schedules North American Release for Evangelion Mari and Yu-Gi-Oh! ~ Seto Kaiba Ani*Statues

Figures maker Kotobukiya plans fall/winter North American imports

Kotobukiya has filled out their plans for late fall/early winter figures scheduled to be imported to North America. Highlights include some very nice Ani*Statues of Evangelion's Mari and  Yu-Gi-Oh's Seto Kaiba, along with figures based on IS <Infinite Stratos>, Ikaruga and more.

Evangelion Mari Illustrious Makinami -Plug Suit Style- Ani*Statue

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Neon Genesis Evangelion continues to be one of the most enduring anime franchises in history, with some of the most beloved characters of all time. In the newest lineup of Ani*Statues comes the “Problem Child” and pilot of the Provisional Evangelion Unit-05 Mari Illustrious Makinami -Plug Suit Style-! Joining the previous two Plug Suit Style girls Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley, the cute and self-confident Mari relaxes after battle. Standing in her highly detailed green and white plug suit (complete with chest and hip attachments and three tentacle-like tubes extending from her right forearm), the girl poses with a subtle feminine twist as she cocks her head and holds her unique helmet slung over her shoulder. A blue hair band decorates her long hair, and beneath her bangs Mari gives you a cute smile. You can even display the pilot with or without her bright red eyeglasses! Sculpted by Yuzo, Mari stands 10 inches (1/7 scale) on a blasted georama base. Display her on her own or alongside her plug suit sisters!

Available December 2012.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters ~ Seto Kaiba Ani*Statue

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Up next in the line of Ani*Statues from the world-famous manga/anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is the off and on friend/rival of Yugi, Seto Kaiba! A young and brilliant CEO, Kaiba excels in the use of Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards and seeks to become the top Duel Monsters player in the world. Captured in mid-duel, the focused young man stands straight with his head turned to face his opponent as he draws a card dramatically from his hand. Wearing his iconic reflective silver-gray jacket with crimson interior and black clothing beneath it, Kaiba can be displayed with or without his removable arm-mounted card duel disk! The Duel Monsters ace has a fantastic sculpt with tons of details on his clothing and game paraphernalia, not to mention the intense look on his face in his quest to win at all costs. Sculpted by Tsukuru Shirahige, Kaiba stands nearly 11 inches tall (1/7 scale) on a special worn terrain base. Whether he’s conquered your collection or stands beside the previously released Yami Yugi and Black Magician Girl, Kaiba will look great in your display!

IS <Infinite Stratos> Charlotte Dunois -Bunny Style- Ani*Statue

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The newest hit franchise to join Kotobukiya’s world famous Ani*Statue lineup is IS <Infinite Stratos>, a Japanese light novel series adapted into both manga and anime that tells the story of the creation of incredible powered armor “Infinite Stratos” systems that can only be operated by women. When a young man is found who can use an IS he is sent to the Infinite Stratos Academy and nothing will ever be the same. The first IS Ani*Statue is the French student who pretended to be another male IS pilot Charlotte Dunois -Bunny Style-! Charlotte, obviously no longer disguising herself as a boy, appears in a sexy bunny suit that leaves little to the imagination based on an illustration from the series. The pretty girl stands balanced on one foot, her hands at her face in embarrassment as small white bunnies clutch at her foot and legs. Charlotte’s sultry bunny outfit shows off all her curves as well as the craftsmanship you’ve come to expect from Kotobukiya; even the lines in her fishnet stockings and the necklace on her chest are sculpted in detail! The bunny style girl stands over 9 inches tall (1/7 scale) and was sculpted by Ryo Hashimoto. Keep your eyes peeled for her upcoming companion, Laura Bodewig -Bunny Style-!

Available November 2012.

Ikaruga ~ Ginkei Fine Scale Model Kit

A Kotobukiya import! Ikaruga two-player go! Kotobukiya is proud to present the second player unit from the shooting game Ikaruga (first released by Treasure in arcades in 2001 and then subsequently on Dreamcast, GameCube, and Xbox Live): Ginkei! The ship belonging to mercenary Kagari, the Ginkei is equipped with the same polarity-shifting capabilities as the Ikaruga despite its very different design. A ship of sails and shield around a central weapons platform, the Ginkei is another unique craft unlike anything else you’ve ever seen, and now you can build your own! The model kit is comprised of approximately 200 pre-colored plastic parts requiring glue for assembly, and is recommended for advanced modelers. Once built the Ginkei is over 6 inches tall (1/144 scale) on its cool broken urban landscape display base. The attack ship looks great displayed on its own or next to any of the previously released Ikaruga model kits!

Available in October 2012.

I Don’t Have Many Friends ~ Yozora Mikazuki Ani*Statue

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! Kotobukiya’s lineup of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (known in the U.S. as I Don’t Have Many Friends) Ani*Statues continues. Following the initial release of Sena Kashiwazaki comes the next member of the St. Chronica’s Academy Neighbor’s Club, the self-hating bully Yozora Mikazuki! Mean and abusive even to her friends, Yozora shows off her angry side even though she can’t help but looking cute. Crouching down, the young girl leans back on her left hand while holding an open book in her right (complete with illustrations!). Her dark green school girl outfit is intricately detailed down to the seams, folds, cuffs, and pleats, all of which move perfectly in synch with her unique pose. The brash girl has a fierce look on her face, her dark eyes flashing at you as though in annoyance for interrupting her reading! Display her on her own, or alongside the other I Don’t Have Many Friends Ani*Statues like Sena Kashiwazaki!

Available October 2012.

Star Wars Darth Vader Return of Anakin Skywalker ARTFX+

A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The Dark Lord of the Sith is back! The latest release in the hit line of smaller scale Star Wars ARTFX+ Statues steps right out of Return of the Jedi: Darth Vader Return of Anakin Skywalker Artfx! An all new representation of the iconic villain, Vader joins the elite lineup of your favorite heroes and villains from the original Star Wars films in the Saga Collection, following great statues like The Empire Strikes Back version, Boba Fett, C-3PO, and R2-D2. More powerful than ever before in the Force as well as mastery of the lightsaber, Darth Vader prepares for his final battle as the Rebel fleet hammers the fully operational Death Star. Updated to match his appearance in Return of the Jedi, the fallen Jedi stands with his crimson lightsaber at the ready for both attack and defense. A tall and imposing figure, Vader is like a coiled viper with his legs slightly bent and his lightsaber held in both hands. The Dark Lord’s armor is intricately detailed and sculpted perfectly to match its appearance in the film with all of the mechanical and cloth elements distinctly textured. You can even display Vader in a variety of poses and looks with multiple interchangeable arm parts and head pieces featuring the iconic helmet or the unmasked Anakin Skywalker! Like all Star Wars ARTFX+ Statues, he has magnets in his feet for display on the included base. ARTFX+ Statues are fun-to-assemble pre-painted snap-fit kits that can be easily put together in seconds without glue or modeling skill. Darth Vader stands approximately 7.5 inches tall (1/10th scale) and is the perfect centerpiece for your Saga Collection!
