Moe Vegetable Girl Saya Midorino Makes Her Debut in Japan

Moe girls help the farmers in the depopulated area

As you know, moe/bishoujo girls are the best promotion tools for any products in Japan recently. Otoyo-cho Yutori Farm in Kochi Prefecture starts selling snap peas featuring a moe girl named "Saya Midorino" on the package at Nichiyoichi (Sunday Market) in Kochi-city today. The company held an illustration contest for the packages in March. She is one of the two first winners. "Saya" means pod, "Midorino" means green in Japanese. She is 16 years old and 1m 59cm tall. Another package girl is Shino Ayasaki whose design motif is eggplant. Her debut is scheduled for August. The company is eager to sell its vegetables at Akihabara, the Mecca of otaku in future.
