VIDEO: "Final Fantasy Dimensions" Reminds Us of the Good Ol' Days

See a pair of gameplay clips for the retro-style Android/iOS RPG

Square Enix is bringing Final Fantasy Dimensions to iOS and Android platforms this summer, and this one looks pretty special. The retro-style RPG brings back the sprite-based graphics, jobs, and classic narrative of light, darkness, and crystals found in older Final Fantasy games, all wrapped up in a new package. Check out a couple clips below for a look at how it plays.

It actually looks a lot like those beefed up PSP versions of FF I & II, but with touch screen functions. Time will tell if Dimensions' story holds up to the fan favorites of the series, but it's nice to see Final Fantasy going back to its roots in something that's not a repackaging of an older game.

Anyone plan on going back in time with Final Fantasy Dimensions when it hits Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc.) this summer?
