Paramount Shuts Down "Ninja Turtles" Film Reboot

Big screen, non-mutant pizza party pushed back to 2014

It looks like the Ninja Turtles film reboot—which first came under fire for its non-mutant spin on the Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created property—is having some script issues. Paramount Pictures shut down production, and according to sources the release is being pushed to 2014 from its original December 2013 date.

Ninja Turtles is being produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans), with a script by Kevin Eastman and André Nemec. Vancouver preproduction staff members have been temporarily laid off, and those prepping the film were informed that the shutdown time frame is "indefinite."

Odds that Krang is behind this: High.
