XSEED Games Sets "Unchained Blades" for June 26

Localization of "UnchainBlades ReXX" dungeon crawler gets dated

When XSEED Games officially announced plans to bring FuRyu's dungeon crawler UnchainBlades ReXX to North America as Unchained Blades, it was simply set for later this year. Now the publisher has offered up the concrete release date of June 26.

Unchained Blades will be released on PSP as a digital download for $29.99, with a Nintendo 3DS version to follow later this year. The first-person RPG is directed by Lunar's Toshio Akashi, with writing by Grandia's Takashi Hino. Here's XSEED's official story synopsis:

Unchained Blades follows the story of the vengeful dragon emperor named Fang. After being stripped of his powers by the goddess Clunea, Fang embarks on a journey for revenge, hoping to regain his true form. Along the way, Fang is joined on his quest by a cowardly golem prince, a shy medusa priestess, a young phoenix clan maiden, and many other mythical beings seeking to meet with the goddess.

As previously reported, Unchained Blades' character designs were provided by a variety of famous artists. The main character Fan was designed by Pako (Shining Force series), with other characters designed by the likes of Lunar's Toshiyuki Kubooka, Summon Knight's Shinichiro Otsuka, and Bastard!!'s Kazushi Hagiwara, among others.
