Green Day's tie-in to 1998 Godzilla inspired remix project

In summer 1998, Roland Emmerich's Godzilla remake attempted to invade movie theaters, only to be greeted by an Oxygen Destroyer of critical hostility. One of the cultural artifacts of the infamous endeavor was the Godzilla remix of Green Day's "Brain Stew." In 2012, the reverberations of that roar-infused song have inspired The Godzilla Remix Project.

Comedian Joe McAdam explains his Tumblr project as such:

In 1998 Green Day remixed their classic "Brain Stew" for the soundtrack of the Godzilla remake by adding Godzilla roars. No one has used this remix method since. Until now.
