Fans waiting for JManga to offer their content outside the confines of web browsers received some very welcome news at the digital manga portal's San Diego Comic panel. iOS (iPad/iPhone) and Android apps will be debuting in October 2012.
A list of upcoming attractions were also called out
Sun-Ken Rock by Korean born artist Boichi - "a fiercely powerful, incredibly intense seinen manga" - the gangster/martial arts epic concerns a Japanese guy who follows his Korean love home and winds up a gang leader. Due July 26.
Dousei Ai - a boys love title by Setona Mizushiro (creator of Afterschool Nightmare - about cloned historical figures in high school - released in North America by Viz)
Mythical Detective Loki by Sakura Kinoshita (Tactics) - about Norse god Loki as a boyish sleuth. Starts August 9th.
Garden, art manga by Yuichi Yokoyama. While this is the first digital edition, a print version is available from Picturebox.
Also look out for JManga's upcoming Manga Translation Battle. Open to pro (published) & amateur translators, you'll be able to translate one chapter from a selection of three manga from Kodansha, Shueisha and Futabasha and possibly win trip to Japan.
