The More Pre-Orders "Ni no Kuni" Gets, the More Goodies It Includes

Namco Bandai's playful take on Kickstarter means more fun for everyone

The special "Wizard's Edition" of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is pretty loaded, but for some that's just not enough. Namco Bandai knows this, so the publisher is whipping up a playful take on Kickstarter to up the ante. The more people who pre-order the game, the more treats they'll throw in!

Much like Kickstarter, Ninostarter has a series of goals, and once each is hit, another treat will be unlocked and added to the Wizard's Edition. Unlike Kickstarter, however, this doesn't require straight-up monetary donations, as each goal is determined simply by how many people pre-order the package. From the press release:

Ninostarter works by tracking the number of Wizard's Edition preorders being placed exclusively on; as the Wizard's Edition pre-order numbers rise, additional Wizard's Edition items will be unlocked when pre-established levels of preorders are reached. Fans will have to act fast to unlock additional items in the Wizard's Edition as will stop taking pre-orders for the Wizard's Edition on August 31, 2012 in North America.

Anyone already put in a pre-order for the game? Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch—an RPG that teams Level-5 with Studio Ghibli and features the music of famed composer Joe Hisaishi—hits North America on January 22, 2013.
