"Valkyria Chronicles Duel" Browser Game Kicks Off July 26 in Japan

Free-to-play game also gets iOS, Android versions

Last month Sega announced Valkyria Chronicles Duel, a free-to-play browser game based on their series of Valkyria Chronicles strategy RPGs. A user test ran through June 25, and the service's official launch is now set for a July 26 launch at NHN's Han Games portable, with iOS and Android versions on the way.

Valkyria Chronicles Duel, or simply Valkyria Duel, has players forming battalions with collected cards featuring over 200 characters from the series. They're tasked with building up a base camp, taking over enemy territories, and dueling in 3D battles. While the game is free to play, money can be spent on items.

The Android version is planned for release on July 30, with iOS following in August. The smartphone versions will only require registration with Han Games for those who wish to share date between versions. Folks have posted ways to dig into the game outside of Japan, so seek those out if you're interested, but there's definitely going to be a language barrier.

Enough about the game itself, though, let's talk about the proportions in this art. WHAT IS GOING ON?
