Winners of the 2012 "Dengeki Gunpla-Oh" Model Competition Revealed

A Japanese domestic competition of "Gundam" model builders

The specialty magazine for plastic models, Dengeki Hobby Magazine (Ascii/Media Works) held it's 14th annual competition to determine the best maker of Gundam plastic models, Dengeki Gunpla-Oh 2012. Gunpla-Oh would translate to, "Gundam Plastic Model King."

Top Prize went to the work entitled Tournesol, based on the MS-06 Zaku 2, by Mr. Nozomu Honjo.

First prize in the Grade-School division went to Mei Hata for the Zaku's Eggs diorama. Hata also became the Japanese representative in the 14-and-under division for last year's Gunpla Builders World Cup (Gunpla W-Cup) world-wide competition sponsored by Bandai Co., Ltd., so it's an incredible feat to place high in both international and domestic competitions.

Also in teams division, the people of "Chuiiin Drive" won for their rotating series of famous scenes from Gundam UC.

And in the Junior High division, "Yuuichi" won first place for Sniper.

The Reader's Choice award went to "Taisuke" for Guardian (photos not available).
