"Naruto: Road to Ninja" Rakes in Respectable $3.8 million

Places third in Japan and tenth globally

This past weekend, the opening of the anticipated Naruto: Road to Ninja took in almost 300 million yen at the box office ($3.8 million US). This placed it third on the Japanese charts, behind the fourth movie adaptation of coast guard manga Umizaru (Sea Monkeys) and The Dark Knight Rises.


It also placed 10th in the global rankings.

For comparison,  Naruto Shippuden Movie 2: Bonds opened at $1.9 million USD, Naruto Shippuden Movie 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire took $2.0 million USD and Naruto Shippuden: Movie 4: The Lost Tower took $1.9 million USD.

 

 

Meanwhile, volume 61 of the manga, also released last week, sold 706,697 copies.
