"Ni no Kuni" Gets Amazon and GameStop Pre-Order Exclusives

Your choice of a steelbook case or griffy familiar for January-dated RPG

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch doesn't land in North America until January 22, 2013, but that doesn't mean it's too soon to seal the deal on your copy of the Studio Ghibli/Level-5 PlayStation 3 RPG. In addition to a special "Wizard's Edition," which gets better the more people pre-order it, Ni no Kuni also has exclusive offers at both Amazon and GameStop.

Pre-ordering at Amazon nets you a griffy familiar not seen in the Japanese version of the game. Known as the Hunter of the Skies, the familiar is able to spy its prey from great distances, and its power grows as it evolves into the griffurnace or the griffrigerator.

GameStop pre-orders come with a less fearsome exclusive: A SteelBook case with alternate artwork, available while supplies last.

Here's Namco Bandai's synopsis of Ni no Kuni:

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is  the heart-warming tale of a young boy named Oliver, who embarks on a journey into a parallel world to become a wizard in an attempt to bring his mother back from the dead. Along the way Oliver makes new friends and tames many of the wonderful creatures that inhabit the world, raising them to battle other creatures on his behalf as he takes on formidable enemies.

Who'll be picking up Ni no Kuni next year?
