"Madoka Magica" Director to Helm "Sasami-san@Ganbaranai" Adaptation

Akiyuki Shinbo and Katsuhiko Takayama re-team on hikikomori rom-com

Last December, a flyer announced that light novel author "Akira's" hikikomori rom-com Sasami-san@Ganbaranai was slated to be adapted into anime. The details that have finally emerged about the project are exciting. Namely that SHAFT will be producing the adaptation with Akiyuki Shinbo (Madoka Magica, Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari) directing.

Shinbo's Pani Poni Dash!/And Yet the Town Moves collaborator Katsuhiko Takayama will be writing the series.

The light novels follow a shut-in who spies on her caretaker brother using her computer's “onii-chan surveillance tool.”
