And so, today, we tip our hats and salute Mr. Hitoshi Takahashi, who has given us Kabutom RX-03, an 11 meter long, 17 ton diesel smoke blowing giant rhinoceros robot beetle.
While Kabutom has been making the rounds since 2009, the mechanical marvel was shown off to the public at the Tsukuba Festival the other day, where this here video was taken.
We half expected to see someone like Solid Snake, or some other Metal Gear Solid character, pop up and try to destroy the darned thing.
But we figure that will be the next step: people who destroy gigantic anime-style robot mechs that actually work just for the heck of it.
