Capcom Announces New "Resident Evil 6" Demo for September 18

More preview content coming, this time available to all, on Xbox 360 and PS3

It seems reactions were mixed when it came to the original Resident Evil 6 demo, which was made available to those who purchased Dragon's Dogma. Well, Capcom ain't afraid to let us all try out some more, so they're releasing a new demo featuring completely different content on September 18.

The demo, set to hit Xbox Live and PlayStation store, will contain solo and co-op content from Resident Evil 6's three main campaigns. As Leon Kennedy or Helena Harper, players will be able to explore Ivy University, which is full of bioterrorist attack victims. In the other campaign samples, Jake and Sherry hit the streets of Lanshiang to fight off the J'avo, while Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans battle mutated enemies in the streets of Edonia, leading up to a fight with a three-story B.O.W. Ogroman. I don't know what that is but it sounds big.

PlayStation 3 owners of Dragon's Dogma will also get a chance to check out the previous demo starting on September 5, when Capcom provides PlayStation Store access via redeemable tokens.

Resident Evil 6 lands on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Europe and North America on October 2, with a PC release to follow at a later date.
