While we wait for the new Resident Evil 6 demo to hit on September 18, Capcom is busy detailing plans for downloadable content that will be available after the October 2 launch. This DLC is all about multiplayer, with three new modes—Survivors, Predator, and Siege—to be added after RE6 hits shelves.
In Survivors Mode, players who bite the dust respawn as an enemy and start hunting the remaining humans. After taking down two humans, however, you'll be resurrected as a human yourself, and the match ends with the last man or team standing in solo or co-op.
Predator Mode puts one player in the role of the massive Ustanak B.O.W. (pictured), with the simple goal of eliminating all the human players. Everyone else just needs to either defeat the Ustanak or survive until the session ends.
Finally, there's Siege Mode, which puts a target on one NPC. The human side of the match is tasked with protecting the NPC, while the enemy side aims to take it out. All three modes use maps from Mercenaries Mode, and will support up to six players online, with all stats being tracked via Capcom's ResidentEvil.Net service.
Xbox 360 has post-launch DLC as a timed exclusive, so these modes will be hitting Microsoft's platform first. There's also more DLC planned after, including new maps for Mercenaries Mode. Who plans on picking up Resident Evil 6 when it hits PS3 and 360 on October 2? A PC release is gunnin' for a later date.
