Capcom VP: "Keep Expectations in Check" for "Mega Man" 25th Anniversary

No definite plans for Blue Bomber's anniversary

Having gone all-out with a massive 25th Anniversary Edition for Street Fighter, Capcom fans should have a lot to look forward to for the 25th anniversary of Capcom's de facto mascot, Mega Man... or do they?

In his "Ask Capcom" feature, Capcom Senior VP Christian Svennson had a surprising response:

"In December 'some but not all' plans for the coming year of celebrations will be shared. There are many moving parts and not everything will be done and final come December. No one has promised a game or even an announcement of one at that time. Please do keep expectations in check."

So as far as we know, we're getting an iOS social RPG and a Japan-exclusive soundtrack collection to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Mega Man, and we should be prepared to not expect much else.

While we're on the subject of unreasonable requests, I'd like a new Mega Man X Command Mission for 3DS, please

Think this has anything to do with Keiji Inafune proudly working on his own projects or siding with Team Ninja? Or is Capcom secretly planning something special for the Blue Bomber's 25th?
