Sony Unveils Manga Reader and Store for PS Vita

Reader Store opens in Japan this October with over 3,000 manga

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Hiroshi Kawano unveiled a new app coming to PlayStation Vita in Japan at Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show conference. Reader introduces the ability to purchase and read manga on Sony's portable, and is set to debut in Japan this October.

In Reader, Vita owners can use the touch screen or the L and R buttons to turn pages, and jump from panel to panel with the face buttons. The app's library, pictured below, is similar to the type found on devices by Apple and others.

Over 3,000 manga will be available in the Reader Store when it becomes available.
