Level-5 CEO Would Like to Adapt Studio Ghibli's "Castle in the Sky"

Akihiro Hino comments on his company's collaboration with Ghibli

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch hasn't come out in North America yet, but it sounds like the folks at Level-5 are pleased with how their first collaboration with Studio Ghibli went. During a group interview session at a pre-TGS event at Namco Bandai HQ, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino commented that he'd like to work with Ghibli again, and, given the opportunity, would adapt Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky.

"If there is a potential opportunity to work with them again," Hino said, "yes, we'd like to work on some joint projects with them in the future - if there is, of course, a possibility." Joystiq then asked, as far as potential projects go, if they had any discussions about adapting Studio Ghibli properties into games, and that's when Castle in the Sky came up.

Wishful thinking, sure, but just imagine the possibilities of a Level-5 developed Castle in the Sky game. Let's hope Ni no Kuni isn't the last we see from this collaborative pairing.
