VIDEO: Latest "Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic" Promos and Cast Updates

Kaori Ishihara, Yuki Kaji and Haruka Tomatsu lead all star cast

Ready to fight for hype in the crowded fall season, Magi comes strong with nicely animated new extended promos, which boast a preview of SID's (Bleach) opening theme "V.I.P."

 

 

Cast announced at a "Maharajan Eve" Tokyo event September 30th includes:

 

Aladdin - A mysterious young boy with a huge djinn within his flute - though a pure innocent, he has a weakness for 'beautiful ladies with soft, big breasts'. voiced by Kaori Ishihara (Lagrange's Madoka, Ano Natsu de Matteru's Kanno Tanigawa)

 

Alibaba Saluja - a former wine cart driver, burdened by a large debt, who has a djinn in his sword - voiced by Yuki Kaji (Durarara!!'s Walker Yumasaki)

 

Morgiana - a slave girl based on the slave girl who served Alibaba in 'Alibaba and the forty thieves' - here, she has animal-like senses and physical abilities - voiced by Haruka Tomatsu (Ichika Takatsuki in Ano Natsu de Matteru, Mashu in C)

 

left to right -the king of the island Sindria Kingdom and two of his generals

Ja’far - voiced by  Takahiro Sakurai (Polar Bear's Cafe's Polar Bear, Brave10's Hanzō Hattori, the new Berserk anime film's Griffith) 

Sinbad - voiced by Daisuke Ono  (Black Butler's Sebastian Michaelis, Saizō Kirigakure from Brave 10)

Masrur - voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya (Kids on the Slope's Sentaro Kawabuchi, Kuroko's Basketball's Junpei Hyūga)


Judal - Oracle from the Chinese influenced Kou Empire  - voiced by Ryohei Kimura (Eden of the East's Akira Takizawa)

 

 

Cassim - voiced by Jun Fukuyama (Yukio Okumura from Blue Exorcist, Souta Takanashi from Wagnaria!!).


Seishun Lee - voiced by Asami Seto (Lagrange's Lan)


Kougyoku Ren - voiced by Kana Hanazawa (Bodacious Space Pirates' Chiaki Kurihara, Binbogami ga!'s Ichiko Sakura, Dog Days' Noir Vinocacao)


Hinahoho - voiced by Keiji Fujiwara (Shiro from Ao no Exorcist, Leorio in the new Hunter x Hunter)

 

Hakuryuu Ren - voiced by Kensho Ono 

 

Hakuei Ren - voiced by Nana Mizuk(Naruto's Hinata Hyuuga, Blood-C's Saya


Pisti - voiced by Rumi Ookubo (YuruYuri's Chinatsu, Sengoku Collection's Oda Nobunaga)

 

Sharrkan - voiced by Showtaro Morikubo (Naruto's Shikamaru)

 

Drakon - voiced by Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama's Gintoki)

 

 Ugo-kun - voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa (Naruto's Minato Namikaze)


Spartos - voiced by Wataru Hatano (Fairy Tail's Gajeel Redfox)

 

Yamuraiha - voiced by Yui Horie (Akane from Kämpfer, Millhiore from Dog Days)



Koji Masunari (Read or Die, Kamichu!, Welcome to the Space Show) will be directing the A-1 Pictures' (Blue Exorcist, Anohana, Idolm@sterand Space Brothersproduction, with Code Geass/My-Hime's Hiroyuki Yoshino (plus Accel World and Guilty Crown more recently) doing series composition writing. 

 

Toshifumi Akai (And Yet the Town Moves opening, Birdy the Mighty Decode) is the character designer/animation director, while veteran Takashi Hashimoto (Project A-ko, Macross Plus) is handling the effects. Ayu Kawamoto (No. 6, Durarara!!) is on art director duties.
