"Retro City Rampage" Hits PS3, PS Vita, and PC on October 9

Throwback GTA-style game finally arrives on a few platforms

It's been a while since we first heard about VBlank's excellent looking Retro City Rampage back when it was first known as Grand Theftendo. Now the NES-style game—which takes Grand Theft Auto III, mixes in a ton of old school references, and tosses it all in a top-down 8-bit world—is finally set to hit PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PC in North America on October 9.

Retro City Rampage will run you $14.99, and the PC version will be available from Steam, GOG, or VBlank's website. Purchase it from the latter and you'll get a DRM-free download and your choice of a Steam or GOG key, so win-win.

Europe will also be getting Retro City Rampage this month on PS Vita and PS3, but a specific date wasn't mentioned. As for those Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare versions, we'll have to wait a bit longer, as they're both due out later this year. If you're just now finding out about the game, here's one of the previously released trailers.
