Ready to see Saber and Gilgamesh animated by studio behind Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari? Well, this weekend's Machi✩Asobi event brought news that SHAFT will be animating the opening for upcoming dungeon role-player Fate/EXTRA CCC.
The sequel to the earlier alt-universe Fate/Extra PSP game, which features "Bride" Saber and a mystery girl who looks and is voiced by the same actress as the teen version of Fate/Stay night and Fate/Zero's Sakura Matou, was supposed to hit Japan in Spring. However, the Imageepoch developed RPG was pushed back by Marvelous AQL to winter 2012, then more recently to February 21, 2013.
Like the first game, the player picks a male or female student for their player character master, then they select their Servant partner: "Bride" Saber, Archer, the Fate/Extra Caster... or, new to Fate/EXTRA CCC... "King of Heroes" Gilgamesh.
“Type Moon Virgin White Box,” will include the following bonuses:
“Fate/ Extra CCC Virgin Bride” - Saber dressed in wedding dress
Limited Edition Bonus:
- The PSP boxart by Takashi Takeuchi
- Base Bride figma
- A visual artbook collection
- Sakura Tange (Saber) limited character song album
UPDATE - TYPE-MOON writer Kinoko Nasudiscussed the game at Machi✩Asobi, saying that CCC will have voice acting and volume than Fate/Extra. Nasu also said "eros" and "a girl’s passion" are themes for the story.
