Annoucements for the fall anime season aren't over yet, and Crunchyroll has a new title up its sleeve with The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, which is set to broadcast every Wednesday starting on October 10, at 12:00 pm Pacific Time for its premium members (hey, that's a little over 2 hours from now...). Free members will be able to view one week after initial broadcast on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll has provided the following background details and story synopsis:
Originally published as a light novel – Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo – by writer Hajime Kamoshida, the anime features the voice talents of Yoshitsugu Matsuoka from Sword Art Online’s Kirito, and Ai Kayano, whose other works include Kikaijima Mogana from Medaka Box and Saori Takebe from this season’s GIRLS und PANZER, as Mashiro. Veteran voice actor and actress Takahiro Sakurai and Yui Horie also join the cast as fellow students and dorm mates Jin Mitaka and Ryunosuke Akasaka, respectively.
Sorata Kanda is a high school sophomore who moved into the Sakurasou dormitory against his will. One day, Mashiro Shiina, a world famous artist, transfers and moves in next door to him. Despite being a genius artist, she has absolutely no ability to live on her own, and is bereft of common sense and the most basic living skills. Being a helpful sort of guy, Sorata gets chosen to become Mashiro’s caretaker, and thus begins this ‘owner’ and ‘pet’ relationship between the two.
The Pet Girl of Sakurasou will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.
