TV Anime "Yama no Susume" Staff Announced and Key Visual Revealed

The anime directed by Yusuke Yamamoto (Sergent Keroro, Aquarion EVOL)

The official site for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Shiro's mountaineering-themed manga Yama no Susume opened on 2:00 pm, October 12th (JST) and revealed the two main staff with the anime's key visual. The director is Yusuke Yamamoto (Welcome to the N.H.K., Sergeant Keroro, Aquarion EVOL) and Yusuke Matsuo(Black Rock Shooter OVA as character designer, THE IDOLM@STER and Yuruyuri as animation director) designs the anime characters. The anime is slated for January 2013 release on Tokyo MX station and will be followed by other stations.

According to the site, "Yama no Susume" is translated as "Encouragement of Climb." The manga has

been running in EARTH STAR'S monthly manga magazine Comic Earth Star. The second volume will

be released in Japan on December 12th.

 

The story is about two childhood friends, Aoi and Hinata. Aoi is an in-doors type of person and also

has a terror of heights. On the contrary, Hinata is an out-doors type and loves mountaineering. They

decide to try mountaineering to see the sunrise they saw together in their childhood from the mountain top.
