VIDEO: NTT Docomo Shows Off "One Piece" and "K-On!" Phones and Features

One Piece Smartphone N-02E and K-On! characters in Siri-like service demoed at CEATEC JAPAN 201

Showing off their winter plans at the CEATEC JAPAN 2012 trade show, Japanese mobile phone operator NTT Docomo had some nice goodies for anime fans. In time for 15th anniversary movie, Film Z, NTT Docomo will be releasing a branded One Piece Smartphone N-02E, with a Thousand Sunny dock, Nami weather app and more.

The phone is an Android 4.0 on a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) display. It supports LTE, has an 8-megapixel BSI camera and is also water- and dust-resistant. Powered by a Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual-core 1.5GHz processor.

The phone is limited to 50,000 units.

Another part of NTT Docomo's Winter 2012 offering is Shabette Concier - featuring characters from K-On!, Sanrio/Hello Kitty, Eagle Talon, Peanuts, Chibi Maruko-chan and more lending their voice and personality to a Siri-like service.

In terms of other phone tech, they also showed off their new Grip UI, which is supposed to help out commuters who need to steady themselves with one hand. The free hand can then be used to control the phone with “squeeze gestures.”
