Darksiders II was pretty damn awesome, which left me with plenty of hope for a third game to cap off the trilogy. Part of what made both Darksiders games so impressive was the character and world design of fan-favorite comics artist Joe Madureira, known for his work on Uncanny X-Men and his creator-owned Battle Chasers fantasy series.
And the single best representation of Final Fantasy X's Tidus in anything ever
Joe Madureira announced his departure from Vigil Games today, leaving Darksiders in the hands of the game's development team. From his Facebook announcement:
"I'm afraid the time has come for me to move on to new adventures. I could not be more proud of what we achieved, or the awesome people who helped build up this studio. I can safely say Vigil's future is in very good hands, so expect only awesomeness down the road.
"I’ll be talking more about 'The Next Big Thing' in the coming months, but in the short term, I'm focusing on banging out a bunch of comics."
A return to Avenging Spider-Man would be great, since the book is comedy gold, but I'm gonna say it again:
The last issue of this book came out in 2001.
We know where I stand on this, but what about you? What would you like to see Joe Mad work on? Or are you more excited for the prospect of Vigil starting work on Darksiders III?
