Sega to Trademark Hatsune Miku's Monstrous Cousin
Warning: you can't un-see Mikudayo
Blue haired virtual singer Hatsune Miku is beloved by many. As for Mikudayo (ミクダヨー – “It’s Miku!”), it's more complicated. While any kigurumi (person in a mascot/character suit) possesses a certain potential for inspiring nightmares, a human sized, super deformed Miku is somehow extra unsettling. Yet, despite the fact that she's creepy and bit of a running gag, Sega has just filed to trademark the "Mikudayo" moniker for video game and amusement park use.
