Hisako Kanemoto Leads "Kotoura-san" Anime Cast

Squid Girl voice actress to play withdrawn girl with unwanted psychic powers

Voice actress Hisako Kanemoto has been cast in a role very much unlike her well known Squid Girl character. In the anime adaptation of Enokids' 4panel web manga Kotoura-san, she'll be playing a withdrawn highschool girl withunwanted psychic powers who becomes the center of attention for her new school's ESP club.

Jun Fukushima (Aquarion Evol's Jin) is male lead Manabe-kun

The ubiquitous Kana Hanazawa is Mifune

Yurika Kubo (a bit part in Pet Girl of Sakurasou) is Moritani

and Hiro Shimono (The World Only God Knows' Keima Katsuragi) is club president Muroto.

The production company is AIC Classic, and the staff includes many veterans of the YuruYuri and Mitsudome anime including director: Masahiko Oota, script writer: Takashi Aoshima, and Takaharu Okuma as character designer and animation director.

Though it's a free web comic, the latest printed compilation, Vol. 3, impressively topped 100,000 copies sold.
