Nintendo officially has some information for those curious about how the company plans on handling Wii U's online features. Check the presentation below for the full scoop, which includes the welcome replacement of Friend Codes in favor of a Nintendo Network ID.
Nintendo Network IDs can be used on other Nintendo systems, smartphones, and PCs, and will be associated with eShop purchases, as well. Nintendo will allow up to 12 distinct users on each Wii U console. Registered friends can talk to one another over Wii U Chat, transmit video from the GamePad's camera, and draw images on the chat window while talking.
It certainly sounds like an improvement on the way Nintendo has been handling online in recent years. What do you think?
