Years ago a headline like this would have been met with a resounding duuuuuh, but the Blue Bomber's future hasn't been quite as certain lately. Fear not: according to an interview in the November issue of Nintendo Power, there's more Mega Man on the way for both consoles and portables in the future.
While it's unclear exactly what fans should be looking forward to—especially since it was advised that everyone keep expectations in check for Mega Man's upcoming 25th anniversary in December—Capcom USA Senior VP Christian Svensson sounds pretty confident in the interview.
As transcribed over at Mega Man fansite Rockman Corner:
I can say with certainty that you've not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we'll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you're going to enjoy over the next 25 years. That said, an issue we've had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we're certain they're going to come out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans. So for now, I'm going to have to stay mum about any details.
Keeping quiet is certainly understandable considering the fan resentment that still reverberates from the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3. Still, it would be nice to get a little something special going this December, too.
