Nintendo rewards players for collecting over 300 billion coins

Nintendo is rewarding players of New Super Mario Bros. 2 for exceeding 300 billion total coins collected with a batch of free DLC, available today. These aren't just any DLC stages, though, these are classic jams from Mario's old days of running around on NES in Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3. Watch as Nintendo President Satoru Iwata introduces the Gold Classics Pack in the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation below.

The special Coin Rush course pack can be downloaded for free from November 27 through January 31, after which it will be available for $2.50.
