VIDEO: "Library Wars" Live-Action Film Teaser Arrives to Protect Us

Shinsuke Sato's adaptation premieres in Japan next April

Director Shinsuke Sato (Gantz films, The Princess Blade, Oblivion Island) is helming a live-action adaptation of Hiro Arikawa's Library Wars light novels, which have previously been turned into manga and an anime series and film produced by Production I.G. Starring Junichi Okada (From Up on Poppy Hill, Hana), Nana Eikura (The Floating Castle), Chiaki Kuriyama (Audition, Kill Bill), and more, you can preview a bit of Library Wars in the 30-second teaser below.

Library Wars is set in the not-so-distant year 2019, and spins the tale of a new law implemented to crack down on objectionable printed material. The Library Force is created to stop the armed forces from destroying these works, kicking off a fierce battle to protect the libraries.

The film opens in Japan on April 27, 2013.
