RUMOR: "Capcom vs. SNK 2" Possibly Headed to PS2 Classics?

Christian Svensson teases news for tournament-favorite fighter

This isn't an exaggeration, or fanboyism at work (okay, maybe a little, but still...)--Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millenium is one of the single best fighting games Capcom has ever put out. From smooth graphics to smart implementation of the Ratio system to a great soundtrack, CvS2 hit all the right notes.

With Capcom digitally releasing fan-favorite fighters like Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, fans across the internet have been wondering when CvS2 would get its own digital re-release, or even possibly an HD upgrade. The game will soon be available alongside the less-than-stellar Capcom Fighter Evolution as part of Japan's PS2 Classics collection.

When asked about a North American release for Capcom vs. SNK 2 on current-gen consoles, Capcom's Christian Svensson replied:

"Eventually. The timing will be quite different though from Japan. More news will come 'next year.'"

That's not a no! If we get Capcom vs. SNK 2 as a PS2 Classic, strong sales could possibly lead to an online-capable re-release, which is what I'm holding out for (just hopefully on XBL with GGPO netcode). Do we have any CvS2 fans here? Who were your mains?
